I know it's late, it's not November, people have said their piece about it, but since it's my turn and I find it relevant. I want to give my review on the recent video game Call Of Duty : Infinite Warfare. The story line of it being still modeled well into the future set not only with different nations on different continents fighting one another like in the past. Instead, it's now on the scale being spread out in the solar system of the other nine planets. I'm thinking, ok they still have more ideas in the bag, I know I will buy it because I'm a big online player and the campaign is only a bonus. I don't write to bash, but I will tell what's right and what's wrong. The good part of the story and animations are where they need to be. They even have a full robot soldier that you wouldn't mind being your friend. Characters that you can follow and cheer for to do the right thing. They did have new concepts of weapons and tactical soldier gear. What's not good is the storyline halfway through where the bad is caught up to you know he's the asshole that you have to stop, but he has no depth to which you want to be the hero to stop him. Stop reading if you don't want me to spoil the end too much. The ending is the classic we have to stop this so the other side doesn't came back after us sorta thing. It's like when they wrote it they just thought the average 12 year old wouldn't care and went with it. So it really doesn't rank up there with past Call Of Duty games, but I do expect a bone chilling find asshole bad guy and make him dearly campaign. So you'll have to judge for yourself.
Call Of Duty : Infinite Warfare does have a really good online multiplayer platform just like its predecessors Advanced Warfare & Black Ops III with the futuristic tone and the new concept of jump suits. From a marketing stand point to keep things fresh, they have implemented the future storyline to attract gamers back to the franchise. I like the future concepts myself. Out of the three games Advanced Warfare is my favorite because I love Kevin Spacey's acting that was integrated in the game. We got a quality future concept with an outstanding veteran actor. I wasn't turned on as much by Black Ops III with their storyline, but liked how at the end they used an artificial intelligence as the main villain. It made sense for the story being set in the mid 2060's. However it still tried, but doesn't hold a candle to Black Ops II's campaign mode with that game being still set in the future with a realistic story. Going to the subject of Black Ops III's and Infinite Warfare's online multiplayer tone Black Ops III topped the online from Advanced Warfare by adding more flavor with graphics and animations making it the best out of the three. Infinite Warfare tried that, but kind of ruined Ops III's being special. When it comes to the future concept, Infinity Ward took the ground work from Ops III and went in reverse while still using the future concept, but made it less colorful and generic. I mean the maps are always a love hate thing on any game, but they just couldn't top what was already great. Even before the release of Infinite Warfare, fans showed strong dislike towards the initial release trailer and months after the actual release the company admitted it was skeptical of how profitable it would be. It didn't dawn on me until I asked myself why would they come out with a remastered version which to be honest it's still kick ass to play, but made sense why they bundled it knowing it would flop. Then it's said what game storyline would you like to see? I read they are going back to World War II back to their roots which I'm all for and such to keep the franchise going. I'm ok with that or another Modern Warfare game series because I believe there is still some gas in the tank seeing Modern Warfare Remastered because of the difference in next Gen graphics. We thought we had it all when it came to those series only because we didn't know or see better at the time. The closest he have had with next Gen graphics on the World War II story was the PlayStation 3 with Call Of Duty 3 and World At War. Both of which were really good with the rise of new gaming and technology, but that was in that consoles generation. I'd like to see the franchise return to a time where we had characters we can cheer for during the game such as Captain Price and Soap McTavish. Time will tell when it all comes out in the news.
